Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

What is SIDDH ?

SIDDH is an adult male patient simulator used for basic to advanced skills training, team simulation, and scenario‑based learning in healthcare education. It offers lifelike physiology, realistic anatomy, and feedback systems to help learners practice assessment, decision‑making, and interventions in time critical situations.

SIDDH supports a wide range of clinical skills, including advanced airway management, CPR with real‑time feedback, vascular access, and monitoring of vital signs. It can be used for complex procedures such as Difficult Airway management, tension pneumothorax management, urethral catheterization, IV/IO access, and defibrillation using real devices.

The simulator has anatomically accurate upper airways, realistic teeth, soft cheeks and gums, palpable ribs and kneecaps, and lifelike weight and height approximating a real adult. Physiological responses such as changes in blood pressure, heart rate, sweating, respiratory patterns, and ECG rhythms can be pre‑programmed or adjusted in real time during scenarios.

SIDDH allows orotracheal and nasotracheal intubation, use of laryngeal mask airways, head tilt–chin lift and jaw thrust maneuvers, Sellick maneuver, and positive‑pressure ventilation. Airway resistance and lung compliance are programmable, enabling simulation of respiratory distress, obstruction, and other pulmonary conditions.

The system captures chest compression depth and rate, hand placement, and ventilation volume and rate, providing real‑time feedback to instructors and learners. ECG and defibrillation with real devices are supported, and the manikin can physically jolt when shocked while monitors display appropriate cardiac rhythms.

SIDDH offers multiple palpable pulse points, numerous auscultation sites on the chest and back, and an extensive library of heart, lung, and bowel sounds recorded from real cases. Vital signs are fully configurable so the operator can display parameters that match the clinical scenario being trained.

The simulator can be configured to show various secretions and outputs such as sweat, tears, ear discharge, oral secretions, urine, and bleeding to enhance realism. These features help learners practice hygiene, wound care, and management of fluid loss in a controlled environment.

SIDDH comes with pre‑installed themes, programs, and clinical scenarios, along with a scenario constructor that allows educators to design custom cases. Automated modes and manual controls let instructors change the patient’s condition on the fly, tailoring difficulty and learning objectives.

Maverick presents SIDDH in multiple configurations to suit diverse training needs, including a full-featured standalone simulator, a complete OR/OT suite setup, a streamlined “Essential” version, and an advanced “Critical” package. The system also features a dedicated respiratory module. Additionally, all configurations can be equipped with an optional integrated ultrasound module to support point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) training.

The simulator is intended for medical and nursing schools, hospitals, simulation centers, and emergency services that need high‑fidelity adult training. It supports both individual skill development and interprofessional team training in acute emergencies, perioperative care, and general clinical practice.

Educators typically incorporate SIDDH into simulation curricula for ACLS/BLS training, emergency medicine, critical care, anesthesia, and general clinical assessment courses. Using real devices and realistic physiological responses helps bridge the gap between classroom learning and real‑world clinical practice.

SIDDH Critical Care delivers autonomous, real-time physiological monitoring, including pH, PaO₂, and PaCO₂ parameters. It features a simulated oxygen system that functions without the use of CO₂ gas, enhancing safety and ease of operation. The ETCO₂ values adjust dynamically based on clinical interventions using both invasive and non-invasive devices. Designed for realism, the SIDDH Critical Care model enables highly effective ventilator training in a true-to-life clinical environment.
