Unique Simulation Features

Bluescope Device

The Bluescope attaches to the chest piece of a stethoscope. It detects its position on the torso and produces the appropriate sound. This increases the clarity and quality of sound for learning to recognize, identify, and distinguish internal sounds during a physical examination

Intuitive Software

  • Activate/deactivate back-lit auscultation points individually
  • Adjust volume for each auscultation area
  • Change Heart Rate and Respiratory Rate for cardiac and lung sounds
  • Compare sounds and waveforms
  • Show ECG and respiratory curve

Analyzing sounds in the
four areas

The simulator software allows analyzing sounds in the four areas: heart, lungs anterior, lungs posterior and bowel. To get more details about a sound (noise / pathology), you can compare the soundwaves of two different sounds from one and the same auscultation area.

Specifications

  • Challenge assessment skills from clear clinical findings to detecting faint murmurs.
  • Rich library of sounds, conforming to American Thoracic Society guidelines.
  • Adjust volume and intensity of sounds.
  • Compare sound recordings
Maverick
  • Activate or deactivate auscultation points and backlighting individually

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

What is the MATT Auscultation Task Trainer?

MATT is an advanced auscultation training simulator designed to help healthcare professionals learn and practice heart, lung, and bowel sound assessment in a realistic clinical setting.

MATT helps trainees develop skills in:

  • Cardiac auscultation
  • Lung sound assessment
  • Abdominal (bowel) sound evaluation
  • Patient assessment and diagnostic listening

MATT includes a comprehensive auscultation sound library featuring 39 heart sounds, 9 lung sounds, and 14 abdominal sounds. This extensive range enables learners to accurately recognize both normal and pathological conditions during clinical training.

The Bluescope attaches to a stethoscope and detects its position on the torso, producing the correct anatomical sound and improving clarity for accurate learning.

Yes. The intuitive software allows instructors or learners to modify heart rate and respiratory rate to simulate different clinical conditions.

MATT enables practice across four major areas:

  • Heart
  • Anterior lungs
  • Posterior lungs
  • Abdominal quadrants

Yes. Backlit auscultation points can be activated individually to guide learners and improve anatomical accuracy during examinations.

MATT is ideal for:

  • Medical students
  • Nursing students
  • Physicians & clinicians
  • Paramedics & emergency staff
  • Simulation training centers

Yes. The software allows comparison of different sounds and displays ECG and respiratory curves to support deeper clinical understanding.

Simulation-based auscultation training improves diagnostic accuracy, enhances listening skills, and prepares healthcare professionals to identify clinical abnormalities with confidence.
